His PrayersDahesh glorified God with passion, as he glorified all of His Prophets and Spiritual Guides without an exception. However, he attributed to Lord Christ a special privilege and dedicated to him several prayers and praises, as well as an inspired book about the life of Jesus from childhood to the age of fifteen. God (Allah): Dahesh mentioned God, Almighty with the utmost of glorification and humility, because He is the source of pure and perfect Spiritual creation and the Creator of the glorious and happy Heavenly Spirits. Only in Him, that absolute truth, goodness, and beauty can be found. Dahesh dedicated many prayers to Him, including an improvisation of eleven psalms by King David that he had included in his book “Supplications.” However, between all the prayers he had written, the following two prayers are special and are repeated regularly by Daheshists: Prayer of the “Beloved and Guiding Prophet.” Oh, Father and the Father of Creation! Have mercy on us because of our inherited weaknesses. Strengthen our hearts so that we believe in Your Powers and talk about Your Miracles. Plant in our hearts the seeds of love, sympathy, mercy, and compassion. Keep us away from temptations that seek to allure us and make us fall into the darkness of sin. Guide our steps towards the path of truth, light, and certainty. Keep us away from vile thoughts and never allow them to approach us. You are the Creator of the universe and everything within it. Your Mercy and Compassion encompass all of its creaturesthe known and unknown. Oh, God! Have mercy on our souls and hold back the full punishment that we have merited, which could destroy us. Do not allow greed to take us over and pull us into its horrible currents. Let contentment fill our hearts, so that we only ask for sustenance and Glorify Your Name. Keep us away from the wicked people and those who mock Your Word. Illuminate their minds. Sanctify the souls of sinners and grant them sparks of Your Divine Lights in order to revere Your Greatness. Lift us up from the horrible pitfalls and include everyone with Your Vigilant Providence. Oh, Compassionate Father! Anyone who: relies on You; works according to Your Commandments; makes sacrifices in Your Name; despises his earthly desires; rejects earthly matters and values; has sympathy for the wretched; preaches about Your Miracles; and believes in Your Beloved and Guiding Prophet, will attain happiness, Heaven, light, and splendor. He will live for eternity in splendor and glory among the immortals, And be graced with Your Brilliant Lights forever. Amen. God (Allah) Goda Word that is: Soft, sweet, transparent, ethereal, and sacred; Pronounced by the lips with quiver and awe; Repeated by the hearts with fear and submission; Sought after by every miserable and desperate person; Known to all Creation since the beginning of time; Familiar to a child from his early years; A balsam that cures the laden hearts; Unmatched by the Al-Kauthar* in its sweetness; Totally encompassing the secrets of life; Loftier than any other word, known or unknown to us; Powerful, strict, sharp, and omniscient; Chosen by the Creating Force to symbolize Itself; Tough, yet compassionate; Frightful, yet honeysweet; Its meaning cannot be fathomed; Heavenly and not terrestrial; Inclusive of the secrets and mysteries of eternity; Holy and eternal; Almighty, dominating everything else; Vengeful, yet just and reassuring; A source of our tears, happiness, pain, and hope; Musical to utter and Spiritual in meaning; Implies the Beginning and End; Oh, what a sweet and immortal Word! It encompasses the mountains, seas, prairies, rivers, forests, deserts, highlands, canyons, and whatever forms that are known and unknown to us in this life and the life beyond. God! (Allah!) Yes, what a sweet and immortal Word. *Al-Kauthar is a river in Heaven. The special position that Lord Christ holds in the writings of Dahesh and his prayers Dahesh dedicated certain writings to several Prophets and Spiritual Guides in order to show their virtueas with Socrates, Buddha, and Mahatma Gandhi; may write about them in a short story styleas is the case with the Prophet Moses; may expand their expressions to tens of pagesas with psalms of King David and with Muhammad, the honorable Arabic Messenger; may have the prayers contained in an entire bookas with King Solomon in “The Song of Songs,” and the Prophet Jeremiah in “The Lamentation of Jeremiah.” However, he wrote about Lord Christ in a special way and was inspired to write many prayers aimed at glorifying him and had many writings about his great influence on the human civilization. He also was inspired to write a complete book on Lord Christ’s life during the childhood years of 12-15. It is a book that can be considered to be the Fifth Gospelit is an inspired Gospel written by Christ himself in the style of a Diary. In a chapter of his book “Memoirs of a Dinar” and under the heading “A prophet is respected everywhere except in his homeland…” Dahesh describes Lord Christ as the “Master of the noble revolution” that was aimed at destroying the shackles of tyranny and slavery since Earth’s creation. However, his loud cry fell on deaf ears. Lord Christ carried no weapon other than the one of truth and the belief in God and Divine Justice. He attacked without fear the oppressive Roman Empire and did not seek to hold a truce with evil. On the contrary, he fought evil to death in order to provide salvation for those he had descended to Earth for. He continued with his Gospel calling on those willing to accept the truth to rebel against the empire of tyranny and bloodshed. However, very few of clean hearts answered his calling. Despite that, he did not become hopeless and continued to attack the Roman Cesar represented by Herod, the tyrant of Palestine and without taking any precautions to protect himself. His noble revolution led him to sacrifice himself for the sake of humanityan act that was rewarded by placing him on the cross. What a horrible oppression! After delivering his message, Lord Christ returned to his Heaven, however, humanity refused his liberation and remained tied by the shackles of oppression and torture and also remained plagued with evil and misery. Dahesh, the returning Christ says: “Now, they are addressing their prayers to him, resorting to him during their hours of sadness, and seeking him for relief from their pains and sorrow. Now, they are respecting his legacy, sanctifying his memories, reciting his wonderful phrases, and praising his miracles. You have lost, you evil spirits! Because you have persecuted your prophets and messengers when they were in your midst and only when they have departed your world that you become appreciative of their value and become regretful. However, at that point, your regrets won’t do you any good on Judgment Day.” As to the book “Memoirs of Jesus of Nazareth,” any words of praise about it would not be a substitute for reading it. In the introduction of the original Arabic version, Dr. Ghazi Brax says: “Dahesh did not introduce us to an historical biography with references that have been proven to be factual or false and he certainly did not compose a hybrid story of fact and fiction, rather, he introduced us to Lord Christ in the flesh and blood and to his touching and amazing life story during his childhood years. In that period, his Spiritual talents blossomed and life began to weave for him threads of great hope and tremendous suffering. It is a tragic life that began with his family and his hometown and ended up in Golgotha. It is the inspired life of Jesus the way he lived it and the greatest intellectual and spiritual incident with a direct link to Lord Christ in two thousand years. Any one who gets a chance to read this valuable book with a pure heart and clear vision, will see himself entering a temple and feels the Spirit of Christ living within its lines. Actually, he will feel the rebirth of Christ’s hidden Spiritual Powers be extended to him across twenty centuries and can’t help but wonder: Didn’t Christ fulfill his promise and complete his covenant by his return to Earth?” Yes, Christ did fulfill his promise and returned to Earth reincarnated in the body of Dahesh. He preaches, warns, comforts, disciplines, and brought the teachings of Christ to life after they had almost vanished from the hearts of believers and after having their pure spiritual essence transformed into superficial rituals. It is he who warns the world with a horrific end unless world governments back away from tyranny, greed, and moral degradation and replace them with spiritual values, mercy, love, and virtue and to form with each other a human family governed by brotherhood, equality, and human rights for all. The following are two prayers by Dahesh addressed to Lord Christ from his book “Thunder and Lightening,” published in 1946: Quintessence Oh, Lord Christ! Oh, Sacrificial Lamb! The Pure Spirit and universal Quintessence; In You, we base our hope and reliance; It is You, who offered His Pure Blood for our sins; Oh, Divine god, who forgets us not! It is You, who gave us sanctuary and forgave our sins; Your Faith is the True Faith.
Messenger of Peace Oh, Glorified Lord Christ, the Messenger of Mercy and Peace! Oh, Extoller of Virtue and Amazing Purity. Oh, Divine Symbol and the Beloved Son of God! It is You, who our hidden souls seek; In You, is the hope of our uncertain Spirits. Oh, Son of God! Come close to us to strengthen our failing wills. Touch our Spirits with Your Pure Fingers in order to cleanse them from sins.
